DECEPTION: THE SPIRITUAL BATTLE IN THE AGE OF AI AND MORAL CONFUSION

DEFENDING FAITH AGAINST GLOBAL DECEPTION
By Jun P. Espina | 10/25/2026 | 11 min read

THE COMING GLOBAL AND ABSOLUTE DECEPTION

Since olden times, we have never experienced or recorded a generation that is obsessed with modern technology, specifically the laptop, tablet, PC, and smartphone and their AI (superintelligence) tools that everyone uses daily. I had a trivial but disgusting argument with a taxi driver before, who thought he was Gen Z and therefore more advanced than me in knowledge. This reflects the extent to which societies have deteriorated because of information overload and the resulting rise in global ignorance. Christ said that we live “on every word that comes out of the mouth of God.” (Matt. 4:4) We cannot survive with fake news all around us perpetrated by recent advancements and the AI. This illustrates the disastrous trajectory the world is heading towards. Manipulations by all leftist leaders in all facets of life (including the political, scientific, and other fields) through AI-assisted inversion of moral truth are globally visible to prepare for the coming era of absolute deception during the reign of Antichrist. The prophet Isaiah saw it coming: “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!” (Isaiah 5:20)

THE GLOBAL DECEPTION AGENDA THROUGH GLOBAL LEADERS

What will we do now that most political leaders of the world (the likes of Macron of France) support the fanatical Hamas of Palestine just they could crush down the Israelites and their land, which was given to them by God Himself according to the Scripture? What will we do now that all end-time prophecies are unfolding before our eyes for the consummation of God’s wrath because of sin at the coming judgment?

While we still have time, let’s go back to Scripture. Christ said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” (John 14:6) The global deception agenda endorsed by global elites is in keeping with Christ’s word concerning their frame of mind as unbelievers:

“You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” (John 8:44)

The apostle Paul also wrote that deception is a global phenomenon. In 2 Timothy, he said, “But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come… But evil men and impostors will proceed from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.” (2 Tim. 3:1, 13)

TOOLS OF ABSOLUTE DECEPTION

What are Satan’s tools of absolute deception? The Bible describes Satan’s deception through lies, distortion of God’s word, false teaching, temptation, and counterfeit signs. Imagine the following key passages with AI power in the background. Taken together, these passages portray deception as making lies seem true, evil seem good, and temptation seem desirable (see Table 1).

WHY ARE PEOPLE EASILY DECEIVED?

I am reflecting on COVID-19 and how my close relatives were deceived by consenting to harmful injections. In Romans chapter 1, Paul states that, “[A]nd although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.” (Rom. 1:32) Deception is not absence of truth, but lack of love for what is true. It is “hearty approval” for what is false and dangerous.

In college, I used to call myself a nonconformist. Later, I started working as a college instructor and was assigned to teach a sociology class. One author said that we need to be deviants. Christ, Gallileo, and others were deviants.

What is being a deviant? I thought I was a deviant when I escaped the compulsory vaccinations during COVID-19. The dictionary states it is about “straying or deviating especially from an accepted norm.” Joseph Goebbels, the Nazi propaganda minister, said: “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.”

During the height of COVID-19, one phrase emerged to become highly popular. That phrase was “mass psychosis.” The internet then erupted, searching for “mass psychosis,” which was popularized by Dr. Robert Malone. “Mass psychosis refers to a psychological and social phenomenon in which groups of people collectively experience irrational beliefs, extreme fear, or physical symptoms without an identifiable medical cause.”

It is happening today. Irrational beliefs or incorrigible stupidity—which means “knowing the truth, but still believing in the lie” (Morgan Freeman).

Look at Paris, London, the Philippines, among other places—there’s stupidity cancer everywhere. It is a global deception phenomenon carried out by the devil himself, the father of lies.

HOW DO WE COME OUT OF THIS DEMON-PROMOTED GLOBAL AND ABSOLUTE DECEPTION

First, we need to convince ourselves that deception is everywhere, and that it is now further enhanced with modern technology, AI in particular. To solve a problem is to acknowledge that it exists.

Remember what Paul has said concerning our fight against demon-inspired deceitfulness: “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.” (Eph. 6:12) Our fight is “against the world forces of this darkness.” But don’t be frightened. Our defense, according to Paul, is the truth. Therefore, we need to resist the devil. We must resist Satanic deception through scriptural truth and righteousness, the gospel of peace we trusted in, plus our shield of faith and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God (see Ephesians 6:13-16).

LOVE FOR WHAT IS TRUE

I have shared this experience many times for the lessons it may offer to truth. My close friend was a die-hard Jehovah’s Witness. Resisting my Christian excitement after my baptism, he challenged me to face his so-called “elder” (around 6 kilometers away from our little town) for a semi-debate on doctrines on the condition that should I lose, I would transfer membership with his “church.”

I just knew John 3:16 for my Scripture with zero Bible knowledge at all. My boss said that my decision was just a burst of confidence and emotions after baptism. I ignored her.

After a brief introduction, the JW elder opened his Bible and read 1 Corinthians 15:19 where it says, “If we have hoped in Christ in this life only, we are of all men most to be pitied.”

I did not know what to respond. I was pitiful, from the JW’s interpretation of the verse, because of my faith in Christ.

What should I do now? All I knew was that during our tricycle ride to the elder’s place, I prayed earnestly for our Lord’s help.

Then, divine intervention came. “Can I borrow your Bible?” Is it true that I was mistaken for trusting in Jesus Christ?

I read the verses (16-18) preceding verse 19. They say,

“For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised; and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished.” Verse 19: “If we have hoped in Christ in this life only, we are of all men most to be pitied.” (1 Cor. 15:16-19)

It’s about resurrection, contextually. Faith in Christ is useless if the dead in Christ will not rise again.

That’s how I confronted a cult by God’s grace. I used “the Sword of the Spirit, the word of God.” (I did not become a Jehovah’s Witness—fortunately!).

Our love for what is true is God’s condition for Him to give us more truth and divine illumination. Observer 2 Thessalonians: “[T]hat is, the one whose coming is in accord with the activity of Satan, with all power and signs and false wonders, and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved. For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false, in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness.” (2 Thess. 2:9-12)

If we don’t “have the love of the truth”—Jesus Christ is the Truth—God will help us go to hell. He will send a deluding influence to make us believe what is false.

In the end, it is not AI’s power, modern technology, or superior education. It is advocacy for what is true no matter the odds.

TROUBLES IN THE END TIMES

Deception is everywhere. Trump won millions in damages in court for the mainstream media’s bias and fake news against him. It’s indeed disturbing that such a powerful and global media network as CNN has become a demonic tool for deception.

Bloomfield** also noticed this deception in the churches (not just in media institutions). “The same conditions will also breed false religions. Jesus recognized this when He said, ‘Take heed that ye be not deceived; for many shall come in my name, saying, I am [Christ]; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.’—Luke 21:8.” (Bloomfield. “The Key to Understanding Revelation,” p. 98)

In commenting on Christ’s statement in Matthew 24:4-5, author Ashish Raichur** wrote, “This was the first sign that Jesus mentioned—the emergence of false Christs and false prophets who will lead many astray. Along with this, we are also witnessing an increase in cults, false religions, and the teaching of all kinds of ideologies that are drawing people away from the faith.” (Ashish Raichur. “The End Times.” All Peoples Church & World Outreach, Bangalore, India. 2026. p. 199)

Both Bloomfield and Ashish Raichur wrote that deception inside Christendom is as real in the end times as prophesied.

The apostle Paul brought our struggle against global and demonic deception a step further. He knew it would intensify until the Second Coming of Christ. Let’s examine Ephesians 6 (again).

“Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, and having shod YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints.” (Eph. 6:13-18)

Paul tried to illustrate our readiness against global demonism by emphasizing our defenses from head to toe. First, he said that as saved believers in Christ, we must cover ourselves with the full armor of God. In principle, we are protected by God because He provided us with His divine protective covering. It is called “the full armor of God.” If you have His armor, what more do you need in this fight? If you still follow the path of deception—like voting for the leftist Macron as a Christian—it is your choice. But you have the power and leverage to resist it.

When Paul said, “Stand firm,” he meant that we have means to do it. One is that we have a belt we call truth (belt of truth) that supports our breastplate and sword. We can tuck our loose tunic into our belt to derestrict our movement, running, and combat.

Without the truth, who is Christ, we could not stand firm in any form of deception.

We also have readiness on our feet (for an illustration of a combat situation) because of the gospel “strapped on your feet” (firm-footed stability and the readiness produced by the good news). (See AMP version.)

We are shielded by our faith in our struggle against satanic falsehood and perversion. Our Christ-derived righteousness is our breastplate, and our helmet is our salvation. We can extinguish the flaming arrows of the evil one because we have the full armor of God.

TRUTH AND FAITH: OUR STRONGEST DEFENSES AGAINST DECEPTION

In a world overwhelmed by deception and confusion, it is crucial to remember that truth and faith are our strongest defenses.

The challenges of modern technology and global manipulation require us to remain vigilant and anchored in the Word of God. By holding fast to the full armor of God, we are equipped to stand firm against the forces of darkness and to discern truth from lies in an era marked by increasing spiritual and moral confusion.

Ultimately, the battle against deception is not just about resisting falsehoods around us but cultivating a deep love for truth within us. This love empowers us to seek divine wisdom, resist spiritual deception, and walk in righteousness and peace.

As we traverse these turbulent times, let us hold fast to Christ, the Ultimate Truth, and be unwavering in our commitment to living and advocating for what is true, no matter the opposition or challenges we face.

A deep love for truth acts as a spiritual compass, guiding us away from the snares of deception and towards enlightenment.

When one values truth above convenience, popular opinion, or personal gain, it cultivates discernment and wisdom that safeguard the mind and heart from the lies that twist around today’s world.

This love for truth is not merely intellectual agreement but a heartfelt commitment to uphold God’s word and divine reality. It strengthens faith, nurtures spiritual growth, and opens the door to divine revelation, enabling believers to stand firm amidst trials and falsehoods.

Without this love, one becomes vulnerable to manipulation and the seductive allure of falsehoods.

But with it, a person gains understanding, peace, and the life-changing power of God’s truth.
