Our Source of Strength in this Life

Our Source of Strength in this Life

What great truth is it that God cannot work with a man who doesn’t have a weakness, a thorn in the flesh? When He appointed Moses as leader of the Israelites, “Moses pleaded with the LORD, ‘O Lord, I’m not very good with words. I never have been, and I’m not now, even though you have spoken to me. I get tongue-tied, and my words get tangled.’” (Ex. 4:10, NLT) The New Testament also recorded Christ’s core group in His earthly ministry comprising fishermen and the ignorant Galileans or the “uneducated and untrained men,” as noted in Acts 4:13.

Christian Teachings Revisited

Christian Teachings Revisited

False and man-made teachings demonized and plagued the sound Christian credenda. Our turn is to vaccinate modernism in religion with the fundamental doctrines of ancient Christianity. It is the essence of Paul’s exhortation for us, believers, “not lose heart in doing good.” (Gal. 6:9) We must inoculate the Cyber-age Christians with the core disciplines of the old paths.

The Christian Doctrine of Finding True Happiness

The Christian Doctrine of Finding True Happiness

There is a Christian Doctrine about finding true happiness starting from this world up to the next life. It is wrong to believe that our portion is nothing more than death and the cemetery. We need to understand that holiness is not all praying and the witness of your empty pocket. Barnabas sold his land and gave the money to the first church. Money is indispensable to run a Christian ministry. Second, what is the role of money in running your family? I don’t support the so-called “Prosperity Gospel,” but let us admit that God has provided first the needs of Adam even before creating him. Why did Christ challenge us to “ask whatever you wish” if He enjoys seeing our poverty? This chapter punctuates on the need for the born-again Christians to work hard and live a balanced life in both the spiritual and financial spheres. From there we can find true happiness as we glorify Jesus Christ above all. Most Buddhist monks desire to follow the path of destitution and with it pursue the philosophy of begging for survival. Christianity is different, for Christ taught that it is more blessed to give than to receive.

Meaning of Life and How Every Minute Counts

Meaning of Life and How Every Minute Counts

We need to take care of our physical needs and gravitate toward the spiritual side of our being. Life’s meaning is our immortality; the salvation of our souls from divine wrath because of sin. I don’t want to just work and work and then die—it is meaningless! Wrote the Apostle Paul: “If from human motives I fought with wild beasts at Ephesus, what does it profit me? If the dead are not raised, let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.” (1 Cor. 15:32) Can you imagine Paul fighting wild beasts while spreading the Gospel? From human motives, such is pointless. If there is no life after death “let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.” Do we have a brilliant rebuttal against Paul’s hope that the dead in Christ will be raised; provided with a spiritual body?

Moving Forward in Life With Confidence

Moving Forward in Life With Confidence

Have you noticed confident people like Donald Trump honoring God? Yes, the secret of true achievement is God; of peace, God; of real confidence, God—faith in the living God! Paul said, “I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. I can do all things through Him [Christ] who strengthens me.” After trusting Jesus, Paul became a super confident man. “I can do all things,” he said.

Overcoming Adversities by the Power of God

Overcoming Adversities by the Power of God

We need to face the world and the trials of life like a trained athlete or a soldier who is ready for battle anytime, anywhere. Without proper guidance we would be aimless in this domain. A college education is not sufficient preparation to avoid depression or suicide. Life is mysterious, a journey of ups and down, confidence and fear, laughter and tears. Facing the world and the trials of life requires more than Buddhism’s reincarnation or Islam’s “72 virgins” in paradise. It requires the Biblical truth that God’s love created life, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
