What great truth is it that God cannot work with a man who doesn’t have a weakness, a thorn in the flesh? When He appointed Moses as leader of the Israelites, “Moses pleaded with the LORD, ‘O Lord, I’m not very good with words. I never have been, and I’m not now, even though you have spoken to me. I get tongue-tied, and my words get tangled.’” (Ex. 4:10, NLT) The New Testament also recorded Christ’s core group in His earthly ministry comprising fishermen and the ignorant Galileans or the “uneducated and untrained men,” as noted in Acts 4:13.
Charles Spurgeon once said, “Those who are ‘beloved of the Lord’ must be the most happy and joyful people to be found anywhere upon the face of the earth.” This truth is proven by the born-again Christians. The fake Christians cannot experience real happiness with Christ since they don’t belong to Jesus. The apostle Paul said that only those indwelt by Christ’s Spirit belong to Christ. (Rom. 8:9) The joyfulness of God’s people is experienced by Christ’s followers whom our Lord imparts His own peace. It is the Christian doctrine of finding true happiness: The peace of Jesus and the hope of eternal life which our Lord gives to those who are His. (John 10:27-30)
